As blue Monday is just behind us and our New Year’s resolutions start to break, we have some exciting news to lighten the mood.
We are relaunching the Kitche app!
We have been working hard over 2022 to redesign, remake and improve Kitche based on your feedback and our experience, working closely with specialists in the field. We are really proud of what we have created and can’t wait to share it with you!
To get the new app simply update the app on the App Store or Google Play Store. It is (and always will be) completely free.
Perhaps it’s time to take up another resolution and try to make 2023 your year to save food, money and the environment.
So, What’s New?
-
You can now add products to the app using voice and barcode scanning!
It couldn’t be easier to get food into the app with 4 different options to choose from. By using voice input, you can simply recite a list of products separated by ‘and’, we will categorise each product and add reminders accordingly. The barcode scanner allows you to add multiple products in one, it’s really simple to use and super speedy so you can use it on the go in the supermarket or at home when unpacking your shopping.

A new Explore and Community section.
This section of the app includes a lifestyle collection of Chef Dan’s top food waste hacks, recipes and lots of interesting resources. The Community section shows you how many people are using the Kitche app in your local community. You can even become an Ambassador for Kitche and earn unique elements in and outside the app.
-
A new Impact section.
Here you can see the results of tracking your food waste. You can see how much water, CO2, money and food you are saving week on week, and visualise your progress on a graph, comparing yourself to the national average. You can even personalise your page by changing your avatar and setting a mission statement!
-
Recipe ratings.
You can now rate recipes that you like with a thumbs up and recipes that you don’t like with a thumbs down. This will help other users choose between our wide range of recipes. If you save a recipe (by clicking the Chef’s hat) it will automatically get a thumbs up.
-
And lots more!
You can now freeze multiple products to extend their use life by using our bulk Add to Freezer function. We have also added search functions within the Explore and Product tabs of to help you navigate the app more easily.
Remember, you can access the app tutorial for each tab by clicking on the veg characters holding a ‘?’ in the top right-hand corners.
Ready, Steady, Kitche!
